During the most recent snowpocalypse, we decided that the truck we have will not do the trick for us in the future (heat, headlights and windshield wipers are all “must haves” in our book. I know – we are picky.) So we went shopping.

We need 4 wheel drive, powerful enough engine to haul random stuff here and there and push a plow, and needed it to pass state emissions, etc. Oh, and it must have the a fore-mentioned heat, windshield wipers and headlights not held on with thread. I didn’t care what the truck looked like. We found a great deal on Craigslist. It was a good price, already had a plow (no need to fit one that may be beyond repair), and has the things we need. The reason it was a low price is because it is ugly. Very ugly. But, ugly is fine with us. So we go drive it and all goes well. The guy wants cash, so we had to wait for the next day the bank was open. We got the cash then started the process of trying to call this guy.

No answer. Leave message. No response. Repeat. Repeat again.

The truck was what we wanted, so tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but a few weeks went by and I was starting to lose faith. If you have a truck for sale, it is good form to have a way to buy the truck… in my humble opinion.

I started to shop for another truck. Even found one I was going to go look at (with cash in hand, just in case). Then the guy calls. It seems he has been taking care of a 4-year-old and 2-year-old for his daughter. This is why he couldn’t respond. The children were too much. I don’t know if this was the full story, but I had to laugh. How many single parents out there have young children and somehow manage to continue life? But this guy couldn’t manage to return a phone call.

The good news is we got the truck. It still isn’t pretty, but it sure is a site for sore eyes.

For the Lazy Man Update

5.08 mi bike and 1.6 mi walk/run on one day and 4.04 miles on the bike and 7 laps in the pool on the other.

This leaves me with:
Walking: 16.26 miles left

Bike: 91.34 miles left

Swimming: 19 laps left

This is harder than I hoped, but I am sticking to it. Going to the gym EVERY day is really really hard.
