This year’s Halloween theme is simply to be scary, creepy or any other horror like person/thing. Compared to previous years this year seems much easier for most to come up with something really good.
Because I am preggo (and will be 32 weeks preggo by then) I really want to play up the belly. My first instinct was to come up with an alien coming out of my stomach. The idea is to take a creepy doll/zombie/alien, then cut it in half and adhere it to a shirt with all the blood and goop surrounding it. The challenge is trying to find a great looking alien/zombie/creepy thing that is cheep enough to justify cutting in half, or finding something else along these lines that would work with a very round belly. If you have ideas, let me know!
Another option would be to be a mummy. I like the double entendre — even though it is over the line in cheese factor for what I normally accept… but I still like it. If I have gray or white pants and shirt, then completely wrap myself in gauze, I think it could look pretty cool.
I just can’t decide what to do. Should I keep trying to make one of these options cool, or should I be something else? What do you think? Any grand ideas?

I love fall. The smell. The weather. The feelings. It is all good.
Today is the first “official” day of fall, although it is 80 degrees out today. Tomorrow, the temperatures go down – hopefully a sign of the great weather to come. Also, it tends to coincide with the busiest time of my social calendar. There is just a lot of cool things to do in the fall.. I can’t help it if I want to do them all can I?
This weekend, pirate camp out and Quidditch World Cup (warm enough for camp out, but cool enough to run around outside)
Next weekend, Renn Fest and possibly football game.
The next weekend we are headed out of town for our anniversary.
We have plans all but one weekends through January. (understanding that some plans will change, but not be canceled, because of our new baby)
I am very excited about all the fun things to come, and today is the official kick off. YAY Autumn!!

Lessons:
– Talking like a pirate confuses people if they are not aware of Talk Like a Pirate Day
– Don’t sleep on your stomach.
– Chicken is still bad (but not as bad as I thought it would be)
– I need additional support on my back to sit on the couch. Chairs are better.
– Postponing (translation: procrastinating) the collection and boxing of giveaway stuff is always a bad idea.
– Introducing two friends who coincidentally conspire against you on the same topic is a bad idea.
– Taking pictures as I grow is a good idea.
– Touching people’s stomach after they’ve touched yours works to deter future uninvited touching.
Updates:
– I get a sonogram today and will be posting the picture
– This week she is the size of a pineapple (14 inches long and approx 1 2/3 pounds)
– She is starting to reject the spicy foods (which sucks because I JUST got some green chili from home)
– She has a name.
– I got “expectant mother” parking, so get good parking at work until she is born.
– Bending over now sucks, but I can still see my feet. I can’t see the bottom of my stomach though.
– I can make my belly button an outtie
– Although I still need medicinal help to eat, I still feel pretty good and actually enjoy being pregnant.

So far, I am enjoying WordPress. I just like the tools better than what I had before. Also, I like that I can have my own photo on the header.
WordPress offers tools that show were your page is being linked and shows what searches are surfacing your blog. These I find very amusing.

Apparently (by mistake, I am sure), Poolparty.com thought my blog had something to do with the metasymbology of Amy Winehouse and the card, six of clubs.
And, I am sad to report that someone feels that clubs are dorky, and they found my blog when trying to find others who also found clubs dorky. My guess is that it was someone’s younger sibling who discovered the elder sibling had “I hate my brother/sister club” documentation while sifting through things that were “private”.
Clearly MY clubs are not dorky. OK. Maybe they are, but I can embrace my dorkiness. I still can’t figure out the Amy Winehouse connection — but that is for another day. As always, your theories are welcome.

Private-i posted an entry about a peeve of hers that I don’t share. While I understand that it is law to yield to the driver on the right at a four-way stop sign, I also understand that most people are either unaware or are confused by this (or maybe they are confused which way is right).
Regardless, I am one of the drivers that will just go with the flow of traffic. If at a four-way stop, everyone is yielding to the left, I will continue the flow. The point of the law is to give direction to the drivers and allow everyone to go in turn. If someone changes direction of the four-way stop, the person who was patiently waiting his/her turn gets screwed in having to wait for three other cars (assuming none of them change the direction again).
I see it kind of like playing UNO. If some drivers have a “change direction” card, it just screws with the system. It would be ideal if everyone followed the letter of the law and yielded to the right. But in a world where that isn’t the case, I am ok with just going with the flow of traffic’s mood at the time.

There are theories around the net that suggest this may be a dream sequence, others saying it has to be ‘real’. I am a recent convert to ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and am not ready to give up McDreamy. I LOVED how he and Meredith left last season. I don’t think they have to end up together for me to love the storyline, but I think they do have to both live through the season.
If the writers have killed him off, I think it is just cheating. I call “no fair” and “do over”.
If it is a dream, the writers (and preview editors) are cruel people.
Are you a fan of the show? What do you think of this preview?

Since my “home” keeps moving around, it only makes sense my blog would too. After two years at LiveJournal (and 3ish years before that with AOL journals), I am now with WordPress. I just like the toys on this site better. The only thing it doesn’t do (or I haven’t found yet) is I can’t back post blog entries (i.e., if on vacation, I have to post entries that were intended for several days ago posted on the same day back.) But I get all the tracking, fancy design tools and easier commenting, so I can’t complain too much.
I was able to save all the entries from LiveJournal and transfer them here easily (after learning about XML on my own… woohoo!) But, I was not able to save the comments — which really stinks. You will just have to comment all over again
Welcome to my new home. I am sure there will be tweaks along the way, but this is home for now. Enjoy!
