Thanks Pete for the inspiration of this blog entry..
I have noticed that pregnancy comes with a lot of “used to”
“I used to like chicken.”
“I used to like the smell of incense.”
“I used to like the smell of cookies baking.”
“I used to like eggs.”
“I used to not require medicinal help to not vomit my lunch.”
“My digestive track used to work properly.”
“I used to like the smell of incense.”
“I used to like the smell of cookies baking.”
“I used to like eggs.”
“I used to not require medicinal help to not vomit my lunch.”
“My digestive track used to work properly.”
Pretty soon it will be:
“I used to be able to see my toes”
“I used to be able to get out of a chair without assistance”
And then it will be:
“I used to be able to wear clothes that didn’t have vomit on them.”
“I used to be able to leave the house with a moments notice”
“I used to be able to sing songs that weren’t sung by people with names like ‘Gary the Happy Pirate.’”
But — I never had anyone call me ‘Mommy’.
I think it is worth the trade.
